The proportional flow control valve is a 3-way, normally closed, pressure-compensated regulator. It regulates the flow proportionally to the input signal in a stepless manner from port 1 to port 3. Any excessive residual flow is directed to the tank or another circuit. This allows for control of the actuator's movement velocity, typically of the piston rod or hydraulic motor.
